The leader of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH), Dragan Covic, condemned the attack by Palestinian militant group Hamas on Israel, expressing hope that peace will be quickly restored in the Middle East.

“Horrible images of attacks on Israel. I express condolences for every victim and the destruction that occurred. I hope for a fast establishment of peace,” Covic wrote on the X platform, posting a photo of him and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Other officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina also condemned the violence.

The Chair of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Kristo, wrote: “I unequivocally condemn the unjust and brutal attack by Hamas on Israel and its citizens. We stand firmly with Israel in these difficult times.”

The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity, Nermin Niksic, said that Bosnia and Herzegovina was going through something similar 30 years ago.

“Violence is unacceptable in any form, especially that which implies the suffering of civilians”, said Niksic, who is also the leader of the Social Democratic Party.

Last night, the flag of Israel was projected on the University building in the southern city of Mostar. University officials expressed their support for their academic partners and condemned the terrorist attack.
