Bosnian athlete Stefan Cukovic broke a national record in 1500m men indoor race set 42 years ago by retired racer Vinko Pokrajcic.
Cukovic took part in the 'Serbia Open' tour in Belgrade on Wednesday, finishing the race as the third competitor in 3:48:20.

“Everyone dreams of being the best one in his own country. My dream came true as I became a new record holder for Bosnia and Herzegovina. I was striving to that goal. The effort and hard work paid off,” said the 23-year-old athlete, a member of Bosnia's national team.
The young runner said this was the competition he would remember for the rest of his life, but he added he still had great ambitions.
“In a few years, I plan on breaking the record of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1500m outdoor race. I hope I can do it if I do some quality training and suffer no injury,” he added.
Cukovic's record came on the same day when Bosnia's Amel Tuka beat the 800m indoor race record both for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans.
