Football players of the Bosnian Velez FC defeated the favoured Greek team of AEK 2: 1 Thursday night in Sarajevo.

The visiting team took the lead in the 12th minute of the match but only two minutes later Velez equalised. With the result of 1:1, the teams went to the break.

Only three minutes into the second half, Velez scored the second goal which brought them the victory.

The rematch between AEK and Velez will be played in Athens in seven days, and the winner of this duel will likely play against the Swedish Elfsborg in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
