Bosnia’s best cyclist Lejla Njemcevic finished the most successful season in her career as the first female cyclist in the world on the UCI world marathon ranking list. In addition, the BH competitor also won the World Marathon League, which was made up of seven World Cup races.

Although there are still two races left in the calendar of the World Cycling Federation, Lejla Njemcevic's team decided to end the season, which was extremely exhausting, and to focus on preparations for the next season after a short rest, Njemcevic’s team said.

In the season that ended, she competed in a total of 35 UCI races, achieved five victories, and counting stage races, she finished on the podium of UCI races 21 times.

Because of the great media success this season, the rights to broadcast the World Cup in the marathon were bought by “Warner Bros” and “Discovery”, so that from the next season the World Cup in the marathon will be broadcast live on TV.
