The government of Bosnia's Federation (FBiH) entity announced on Friday it would deploy firefighting and rescue teams to Turkey, to help the country cope with deadly wildfires that hit its southern regions.
In an urgent phone session, the government agreed to send assistance to the Republic of Turkey, tasking the FBiH Civil Protection Agency to coordinate the operation with cantonal civil protection administrations and assemble professional and volunteer firefighter teams.
The FBIH will also deploy specialised rescue teams to Turkey.
A total of 41 firefighters are ready to depart immediately, while 100 members of the Civil Protection Agency's Special Unit are on standby, waiting for further instructions.
