Under the new law regulating shopping hours in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Croat-Bosniak Federation, retailers in that entity will be obliged to comply with the new statutory provisions regarding stores' working hours, which are primarily aimed at limiting work on Sundays.
The law is entering into force soon, and the ban on Sunday shopping will be enacted for the first time on 17 November, according to the information given after a meeting of the Federation's trade minister Amir Hasicic and representatives of the Federation's association of employers on Friday.
Non-compliance with the ban will result in a fine of between €1,000 and €7,500.
The association of employers welcomed the new regulation, underscoring that it will enable the retail sector workforce to have a non-working Sunday and free time for themselves and their families.
