Bosnia's Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic condemned the incident reported in front of Croatian embassy in Sarajevo Saturday night, when the European Union's flag was removed from the flagpole and torn down, calling it an act of “vandalism.”

“We find unacceptable this act of vandalism that was committed by individuals, it does not represent the stance of the majority of citizens of our country and there is no room for it in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The membership in the European Union is our firm and strategic commitment as well as improvement of good neighbourly relations with the Republic of Croatia based on respect and understanding,” stressed Turkovic.

“I expect the competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to shed light on this unpleasant incident as soon as possible,” she added.

Still unidentified perpetrator(s) tore down the EU's flag in front of the centrally located Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Sarajevo on Saturday night, leaving the flag of Croatia untouched. Ambassador Ivan Sabolic said the incident probably happened between 11 pm and midnight.
