Bosnia's foreign trade deficit in seven months of 2022 exceeds 5 billion marks

Total export from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period from January to July 2022 amounted to 10.5 billion marks (approx 5.30 billion euro), which is 37.5 percent more than in the same period last year, while total import amounted to 16.1 billion marks (approx 8.20 billion euro) or 40.2 percent more than in the same period in 2021.

According to the Statistics Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the coverage of imports by exports in that period amounted to 65.2 percent, while the foreign trade deficit amounted to 5.6 billion marks (approx 2.8 billion euro).

Exports to the countries of the CEFTA common regional market amounted to 1.9 billion marks (approx 0.97 billion euro), which is 60.7 percent more than in the same period in 2021, while imports also amounted to 1.9 billion marks, which is 33.5 percent more than in the same period in 2021.

Coverage of imports by exports within these markets was 99.4 percent.

Exports to EU countries amounted to 7.8 billion marks (approx 4 billion euro), which is 36.9 percent more than in the same period in 2021, while imports amounted to 9.1 billion marks (approx 4.6 billion marks), which is 31.1 percent more than in the same period last year.

Coverage of imports by exports with EU countries amounted to 85.8 percent.
