Bosnian director Jasmila Zbanic did not receive a single of the two awards she was nominated for at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) whose ceremony was held Sunday evening in London at a ceremony without an audience due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Zbanic's film "Quo Vadis, Aida?" was nominated for a BAFTA award in two categories: best foreign film and best director. Unfortunately, Zbanic did not win any of the mentioned awards.

Thomas Winterberg's film "Another Round" was chosen as the best foreign film, and the award for best director went to Chloe Zhao.

This year's award ceremony was held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Zbanic's film, which talks about the Srebrenica genocide, was also nominated for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

The film “Quo Vadis, Aida?” became the second film from BiH to compete for this prestigious award. The Oscars will be awarded on April 25.
