Bosnia's most awarded cyclist and four-time champion of the Balkans Lejla Tanovic has made it to the top ten female cyclists in the world.
Tanovic who ranked eighth during the recent World Championship in Turkey is now the seventh best female cyclist of the world, according to the Union Cycliste Internationale.
“It was our goal to be among top ten female cyclists of the world in this year and the seventh place in the world came as a result of excellent performance I have had throughout the year,” said Tanovic.
“I proved with my performance and results in the most important races that I can run for the gold medal in the biggest competitions. Preparations for the next season have already started and the new ranking is coming as strong motivation prior to the difficult training sessions,” she added.
Tanovic's result is the best ever in the history of cycling of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
