Bosnia's best cross-country and mountain bike cyclist, Lejla Njemcevic, and currently second in the world in the marathon discipline, won second place at the fourth edition of this year's Marathon World Cup in Turkey.
Katazina Sosna from Lithuania took the victory ahead of the Bosnian competitor, while Stefanie Dohrn from Germany finished as the third competitor.
The Bosnian took the lead from the very beginning but due to high air temperature, which reached as high as 45 degrees, Njemcevic lost the advantage within the last ten kilometers and the Lithuanian competitor finished as the first.
There was no change at the very top of the World Marathon Ranking list, but it is certain that Njemcevic and Sosna will be in the race for first place by the end of the season.
The next race for Njemcevic comes in September when she will compete at the World Championship in Denmark.
