Lejla Njemcevic, Bosnia’s best cyclist, and Stefanie Dohrn won second place overall at the six-day UCI SHC Andalucia Bike Race in Spain.
The proof that the race was uncertain until the last moment is also shown by the result of the general classification, in which, after 18 hours and 17 minutes of racing in six stages, Njemcevic and Dohrn were slightly more than a minute behind the winners Katazin Sosna and Irina Luetzelschwab.
The Buff Megamo team contestants Janina Wust and Meritxell Figueras Garangou completed the race in third place.
“These were really great six days of racing and I'm very happy with second place and 180 UCI points for the world ranking list. I am particularly pleased with the form I’m in, given that the main part of the season is in May,” Njemcevic said.
The next competition for the Bosnian competitor will be the UCI C1 XCO Premantura, which she won last year.
