Edin Forto was elected as new Our Party (Nasa stranka - NS) leader Saturday when 98 delegates voted in his favour, five were against, and two abstained. Forto was the only candidate for the position after Predrag Kojovic resigned.

After being elected, Forto addressed the party Congress and the public. He thanked for the nominations and the election and presented his vision of the development of NS, which is optimistic, but not without fear.

“Nationalist policies in power, but also in opposition, spread apathy and pessimism. Their goal is to put all the politicians in the same basket as themselves. We fight so that no person, regardless of their religious, national, gender, sexual and class difference, be subjected to harassment and insecurity. All citizens must have the same rights. No one in Our Party has ever been discriminated against on the aforementioned grounds,” Forto said among other things.

The Program Declaration of Our Party was also adopted at the Congress.

In his last speech, the now-former Party leader Predrag Kojovic said he predicts a bright future for the NS, led by Forot.
