The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced the arrest of Nenad Nesic, Minister of Security in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Lucic, and several others.
The arrests carried out on December 26, 2024, are part of an ongoing investigation into corruption-related criminal activities conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office in cooperation with the Organized Crime Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska (RS).
Charges include money laundering and bribery
The suspects, including Milan Dakic, Director of the RS Roads Public Enterprise, and four additional individuals, are accused of engaging in organized criminal activities while managing RS Roads and conducting business with the entity.
“They are suspected of committing the following offences: association to commit criminal acts (Article 249 of the BiH Criminal Code), money laundering (Article 209 of the BiH Criminal Code), abuse of official position or authority (Article 315 of the RS Criminal Code), and accepting bribes (Article 319 of the RS Criminal Code),” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
Searches and investigation
The action, directed by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, was executed by the RS Ministry of the Interior. Reports from media outlets in the RS indicate that premises associated with the RS Roads Public Enterprise were searched as part of the operation.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet disclosed additional details about the evidence or potential further arrests.
