Bosnia's top judicial authority passed a decision on removing Mahmut Svraka from the post of the Chief Prosecutor of Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-majority entity, and appointing him as a prosecutor.
The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council acted upon the decision of a disciplinary commission, which determined that Svraka committed disciplinary offences of negligence in the performance of official duties as well as the failure to act upon the decisions, orders or requests of the Council.
It also appointed Miodrag Bajic as acting chief prosecutor, who will perform the duty until the completion of the vacancy procedures.
The Council's decision is final.
