The Prosecutor's Office of the Brcko District in Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed charges against five individuals due to reasonable suspicion of pre-election and election irregularities that influenced voter will during the October 6 elections. Four of the accused are currently in custody, as confirmed by District prosecutors to journalists.
“As a result of these activities, several suspects have been detained, and an investigation has been launched on suspicion of committing serious criminal offenses under the District's criminal code. Currently, one person is in custody based on final court decisions in the Brcko District, while three others are being held in custody per the Basic Court's decision, with appeals on these detention decisions underway,” said Zekerija Mujkanovic, Chief Prosecutor of the Brcko District.
He added that the investigation into this particular case is still ongoing.
“A total of four people are currently in custody, and the ongoing investigation will determine whether there will be more suspects or similar measures to ensure attendance,” Mujkanovic stated, adding that the investigation is a priority and that all efforts will be made to reach a prosecutorial decision as soon as possible.
