A bus transporting journalists to the Africa Cup of Nations had a traffic accident in which several journalists were injured, including one from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accident happened at around 2:30 am on the highway near Abidjan, where the bus was headed after the last game played in Yamoussoukro, the capital of Ivory Coast.

A Bosnian journalist, Alija Cizmic, who covers the African Cup of Nations for foreign media, was aboard the bus.

Cizmic suffered injuries to his hand and minor injuries to his body, and after visiting the hospital he was released for home treatment.

Several other journalists were also injured with him, but luckily there were no fatalities.

The Minister of Sports of Ivory Coast expressed his regret for everything that happened and promised to personally talk to all the injured, most of whom are now unable to continue reporting from the championship.
