Vice President of the Republika Srpska, Camil Durakovic, commented on the recent political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly the discussions around the so-called "peaceful dissolution" of the country.

“No entity has the legitimacy to pursue this. It is clear who has the authority to change the constitutional structure of the state. This should be ignored or mocked to the extent that the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) government could appoint a Commission for the Peaceful Dissolution of Republika Srpska, and these commissions would meet and work”, he said.

Durakovic also addressed Head of Srebrenica Municipality Mladen Grujicic's initiative to change the name of Srebrenica.

“He is a desperate local politician who has lost the support of his own party for the upcoming elections and will run as an independent candidate. To attract attention, he must be more radical than even Dodik and SNSD. His schizophrenic announcement reflects a genocidal policy, and this is where we distinguish between genocidal people and genocidal policies. Unfortunately, genocidal policies or those spreading such ideas are the problem,” Durakovic stated.

He further commented on Dodik's statements about July 11 and the ongoing relativization of the genocide.

“In his explanation, I mean Grujicic, he mentions that investors will avoid Srebrenica because of the Resolution. Dodik needs any campaign that will draw attention to them. Dodik does not deviate from this policy and eagerly awaits statements like Grujicic’s, supported by centers that seek destabilization. This is a continuation of a risky policy that could lead us to escalation,” Durakovic emphasized.
