In an operation codenamed "Droga 2024," members of the Border Police Unit of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Velika Kladusa discovered a cannabis plantation in the area of Mutnik Vilici, near Cazin, on Wednesday.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 46 cannabis plants ranging from half a meter to nearly three meters in height. A suspect identified as M.V. (born in 1981), a Bosnian citizen, was arrested in connection with the case, according to a statement from the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Authorities have informed the prosecutor on duty at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in the Una-Sana Canton and the preliminary proceedings judge at the Cazin Municipal Court about the incident. Under their orders, the suspect's house and associated buildings were searched, and the cannabis plants were confiscated.
A report on the criminal offense of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotics will be submitted to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in the Una-Sana Canton against the suspect, M.V.
The operation was supported by members of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs, as stated in the official announcement.
