Capljina among hardest-hit areas after storm, numerous technical interventions recorded

A large number of technical interventions and fires were recorded across the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton over the past 24 hours, mainly due to the severe storm that affected parts of the canton.

Capljina recorded the highest number of interventions. Following the storm, firefighters removed several fallen trees from the M-17 main road, Gojko Susak Street, the Pocitelj–Moruga section of the main road, and the area below the Old Town of Pocitelj, where a tree also fell onto a van. In Pocitelj Polje, firefighters removed a tree that had damaged the power grid. Earlier in the day, lighting at the Sports Centre was replaced with the assistance of an aerial ladder truck, according to the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Civil Protection Operational Centre.
In Mostar, firefighters removed a tree that had fallen onto a car in Kralja Tomislava Street.
In Jablanica, emergency crews cleared a blocked drainage channel in Civelj, regulated traffic at Komadinovo Vrelo, repaired the roof of a house and removed a fallen tree in Donja Jablanica.
In Stolac, roof tiles on a family house in the Klokun neighbourhood were repaired.
Several wildfires were also reported during the day. In Capljina, grass, low vegetation and forest burned in the areas of Gnjilicta, Domanovici, Visici and Sjekose. In Citluk, firefighters extinguished a grass and rubbish fire in Dragicina, while a forest fire was reported in the Bovan area near Stolac.
