CEC BiH officially calls 2026 General Elections for October 4

The elections are being called for the following institutions: the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the President and Vice Presidents of Republika Srpska, and the cantonal assemblies in the Federation of BiH.

The elections will be held on Sunday, October 4.

The Central Election Commission of BiH also adopted the Instruction on Deadlines and the Sequence of Electoral Activities for the 2026 General Elections, and passed the Decision on closing the Central Voters Register as of May 6, 2026.

In addition, the Rulebook on the Conduct of the 2026 General Elections in BiH and the Decision on the design, content, features, and characteristics of ballot papers for all levels of direct elections in the 2026 General Elections are also expected to be adopted.

More details about the upcoming General Elections in BiH will be announced at a press conference following the session of the CEC BiH.
