Christmas Mass led by Bosnia's Archbishop Tomo Vuksic was held on Sunday morning at the Sarajevo Sacred Heart Cathedral in presence of numerous believers as well as Cardinal Vinko Puljic and Apostolic Nuncio to Bosnia and Herzegovina Francis Assisi Chullikatt.
Conveying a message on this occasion, Vuksic said this is the day when Christian believers mark the feast that spreads joy and hope.
“Which is why even those who do not recognise themselves under the Christian name often join Christians,” he stressed.
The Catholic Church leader in Bosnia and Herzegovina also reminded that the ways to celebrate are often combined with long spiritual traditions, which keep all these customs from being forgotten.
“In this series of discovering the meaning of Christmas, the faithful try, apart from the memory of Jesus’ birth, to recognise as contemporary at least one of the messages of this holiday,” he noted.
Vuksic also called on the faithful to confess their sins and to ask God for mercy.
