A meeting took place on Wednesday between Borjana Kristo, Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and U.S. Ambassador Michael Murphy.

At the outset, Kristo extended her sympathies and condolences for the tragic loss of lives and destruction caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles and the broader California region.

During the discussion, Chair Kristo briefed Ambassador Murphy on the Council of Ministers’ recent activities, with a focus on two critical European reform laws scheduled for consideration by the House of Representatives in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kristo stressed the importance of adhering to the European reform agenda, emphasizing that a non-election year provides an ideal opportunity for political actors to advance key reforms, particularly in the area of electoral legislation.

She also underscored the urgency of securing a date for the Intergovernmental Conference this year, a step that would formally launch Bosnia and Herzegovina's EU accession negotiations.

The Council of Ministers reaffirmed its commitment to close cooperation with US institutions, describing the United States as a trusted ally and partner in advancing Bosnia and Herzegovina's Euro-Atlantic integration and achieving full EU membership.
