China marks 76th National Day and 30 years of diplomatic ties with Bosnia

The event was attended by senior state officials, including Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Marinko Cavara, Deputy Speaker Denis Zvizdic, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples Kemal Ademovic, alongside representatives of legislative and executive institutions at all levels and members of the diplomatic corps.

In her address, Chinese Ambassador to BiH Li Fan underlined that this year also marks the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism and the founding of the United Nations. She highlighted the enduring importance of the UN Charter as a foundation for preserving international stability and fostering cooperation.

Reflecting on three decades of bilateral ties, Ambassador Li stressed that China and BiH have built a partnership rooted in mutual respect. She noted the visa-free regime between the two countries as part of China’s broader openness, currently encompassing 75 states through unilateral or reciprocal arrangements and 55 through transit agreements.

The ambassador emphasised the relevance of President Xi Jinping’s Global Governance Initiative, which is based on five principles: sovereignty, respect for international law, multilateralism, people-centred development, and practical solutions. These, she said, align with the UN Charter and provide a framework for tackling today’s global challenges.

Li also highlighted the growth of tourism, noting that Chinese visitor numbers to BiH are expected to reach 100,000 this year, with charter flights under active consideration to enhance exchanges further.

The evening concluded with a performance by the Chinese Radio and Film Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Zhang Bingbing, which presented a program of internationally acclaimed musical works.
