CNN's Christiane Amanpour, who arrived in Sarajevo for the opening night of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival, received a plaque naming her the Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo.
The ceremony was held at the Sarajevo City Hall and the recognition was handed over by mayor Benjamina Karic.
The City of Sarajevo awarded Amanpour in 2000 as the wartime reporter from the Sarajevo under the siege, who contributed to conveying the objective information on the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina with her reports.
The City Council then said that Sarajevo citizens welcomed the recognition, expressing their respect and gratitude for the reporter in that way.
