Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi will be in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 17 May to co-chair a High-Level Political Forum together with the Chair of the country's Council of Ministers, Borjana Kristo.

Members of the collegium of both houses of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and representatives of the clubs of both houses of the BiH PS, prime ministers of entities, prime ministers of cantons in the Federation of BiH and the mayor of the Brcko District of BiH will participate in the forum.

In the October 2022 recommendation for candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Commission stated that it stands ready to continue supporting the country's efforts on its European path by setting up a High-Level Political Forum to monitor the implementation of the steps outlined in the recommendation and report on further progress on the ground.

The Commission will report again in the 2023 enlargement package on the state of implementation of the 14 key priorities set out in the Commission Opinion on the EU membership application of BiH.
