Bosnia and Herzegovina will receive another delivery of vaccines through COVAX mechanism in early May, the Civil Affairs Ministry confirmed on Monday.

The shipment will contain 100,620 Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines and is expected to arrive in the week between May 3 and May 9.

The ministry earlier said that COVAX would send some 80,000 AstraZeneca vaccines either at the end of April or the beginning of May.

After several delays, Bosnia and Herzegovina received the first batch of Covid-19 vaccines it purchased through the COVAX system on March 25. The first delivery contained 23,400 Pfizer/BioNTech and 26,400 AstraZeneca doses.

Bosnia purchased the total of 1,232,000 vaccine doses through COVAX and depending on availability, the mechanism will be delivering the quantities and producers it has at disposal.
