“Croatia protects the rights and interests of its citizens living abroad and promotes their connections with the homeland,” Transport and Infrastructure Minister Oleg Butkovic said. “It is therefore essential to provide parts of the Croatian population in other countries with direct and efficient transport links to all Croatian regions, as well as to key EU transport hubs.”
Of the €5 million allocated for the Capljina bridge, €4 million is earmarked for the bridge itself and €1 million for access roads.
The government also approved continued funding for Mostar Airport to maintain regular international flights to Zagreb. In 2024, the programme supported 147 flights carrying 10,873 passengers, compared with 141 flights and 11,042 passengers last year.
Of the €1.75 million, €950,000 is for maintaining the Zagreb-Mostar route, while the remaining €800,000 will go towards airport infrastructure, equipment and enhancements to civil aviation safety - a change from 2024 and 2025 allocations.
For 2026 flights between Zagreb and Mostar, as well as between Belgrade and Mostar, Croatia Airlines was selected as the most favourable bidder through a public tender.
