According to exit polls conducted by the Ipsos Puls agency on Sunday, the leading candidates in the Croatian mayoral elections based on the number of votes in the four largest cities are Tomislav Tomasevic in Zagreb, Ivica Puljak in Split, Iva Rincic in Rijeka, and Ivan Radic in Osijek.

In the capital city, the incumbent mayor Tomislav Tomasevic of the We Can! and SDP coalition secured 49.59 %of the vote, followed by independent candidate Marija Selak Raspudic with 14.91%.c with 14.91%.
SPLIT
In Split, the second round is likely to see incumbent mayor Ivica Puljak (Centre) with 36.25 % of the vote, and the HDZ's Tomislav Šuta with 29.38 %.

In Rijeka, the frontrunners are Iva Rinčić (Youth Action and partner parties) with 39.85% and the current mayor, Marko Filipović (independent), with 19.89 %.
OSIJEK
The incumbent mayor of Osijek, Ivan Radic (HDZ) won 72.12% of the vote, followed by SDP candidate Vjeran Marijašević with 17.33%.

A majority vote elects municipal heads, mayors, and county prefects. To be elected, they must receive at least 50% plus one vote.
If no candidate musters the required majority in the 18 May elections, the first two vote getters run in the mayoral runoff in two weeks, on 1 June.
