Croatian Interior Ministry sent a letter of thanks to the Sarajevo police officers who, through the association "Stari Grad First Police Brigade," sent humanitarian aid to colleagues from the area of Petrinja and Glina affected by the catastrophic earthquake.

During the time we are still unable to recover from the earthquake that hit the City of Zagreb and its surroundings in March 2020, this latest and even more devastating one, on December 29 with the epicentre near Petrinja, has worsened the already bad situation in the Republic of Croatia which is facing the Covid-19 pandemic like the rest of the world. With human casualties and enormous material damage in the affected areas, this unfortunate natural disaster has greatly hampered not only police work but also the daily lives of police officers personally affected by its consequences. Precisely for this reason, the knowledge that our colleagues, partners and friends from neighbouring BiH are with all of us in these difficult times, and especially the police officers who need help most at this time, gives us additional strength and motivation to overcome this disaster. Understanding, solidarity and support in these difficult times are of great importance to us, and we highly appreciate the humanitarian aid that the association ‘Stari Grad First Police Brigade’ gave to colleagues from the area of Petrinja and Glina. Allow me to use this opportunity to thank you and all the members of the Association on this on my own and on behalf of the entire Croatian Police Force,” reads the letter from the Police Director of the Croatian Interior Ministry, Adrijana Bago.

Representatives of the association “Stari Grad First Police Brigade” visited the area of Petrinja and Glina after the earthquake a few days ago and provided humanitarian aid to their colleagues and handed over a donation.
