During his speech at the UN General Assembly on Friday, Croatia’s Prime Minister, Andrej Plenkovic, urged the High Representative of the international community in Bosnia to impose changes to the election law and ensure legitimate representation for Bosnian Croats.

“We want to see a prosperous and functional BiH,” Plenkovic said, adding that, in light of the war in Ukraine, it is important to respect the Dayton Agreement.

Plenkovic called on High Representative Christian Schmidt to use his Bonn Powers, arguing that “Bosniak leaders have publicly admitted that they have no real intentions to reach an agreement with the Croat leaders in BiH regarding the electoral reform”.

“As the least numerous among the constituent peoples, the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina demand no favours only equality,” he said.
