Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Tuesday that Serbia’s relations with other Council of Europe (CoE) members will depend on what they did in the vote on Kosovo’s application for membership.

“Montenegro could have at least abstained. We have to act reciprocally. Montenegro voted for Kosovo’s accession. They will need our vote sometime and they certainly won’t be able to count on it,” he said.

He added that Ukraine’s vote was also an unpleasant surprise after Serbia condemned the violation of its territorial integrity.

“As for Bosnia-Herzegovina, did I ever appear anywhere and fail to speak about its territorial integrity? Now when someone asks we will abstain. Why should we be in favour of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s territorial integrity only for them to abstain,” he said adding that he was also surprised by Greece and Slovakia.

Dacic voiced gratitude to the countries that voted against Kosovo’s application “proving themselves as friends of Serbia” and listed Cyprus, Spain, Romania, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Hungary.
