Exactly four years ago, the body of David Dragicevic was discovered at the confluence of the Crkvena and Vrbas river, not far from the centre of Banja Luka. Since then, his father, family and friends have been seeking justice for the 21-year-old Banja Luka student.

David's father, Davor Dragicevic, spoke Thursday at the site where his son's body was found.

“I’ll be in front of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday,” Dragicevic announced, emphasizing that it was “a desperate cry to remove the murderers and criminals who are at large, from the streets.”

He pointed out that he expects this case, as well as the case of the murdered Sarajevo young man Dzenan Memic, to be a priority.

“This must be resolved, I don't know how long I will be there if there is no decisive reaction from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina itself – that means there are no institutions,” Dragicevic said.

Dragicevic also said that he had done nothing for his son and that he would therefore take justice into his own hands.

“I will retire for a while, if there is no reaction from the Prosecution, I will avenge my child, because Davor Dragicevic is not allowed to be a legalist and to fight for justice for his child in a fair way,” Dragicevic pointed out, announcing that next year he will not be at the place where his son's body was found unless a lawsuit is initiated.

Davor Dragicevic previously announced that he would set up a tent in front of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 27.

The disappearance of David Dragicevic was reported on March 18, 2018. Over the course of the next 12 months, Banja Luka was marked by mass and daily protests by the group Justice for David and Banja Luka residents seeking justice for the murdered young man.

His death was first characterized as accidental, caused by drowning and without elements of a crime, and after four months of pre-investigation work, on June 28, 2018, the prosecution issued an order to conduct an investigation against unknown perpetrators on suspicion of murder.
