Monday is a Day of Mourning in Bosnia’s semi-autonomous Federation (FBiH) entity over the tragic death of eight teenagers in the southwestern town of Posusje that took place on New Year’s Eve.
The tragedy took place in a weekend cottage. The teenagers were found dead on Friday morning after their friends broke into the house to check on them, as they did not respond to phone calls.
The cause of death was asphyxiation, caused by a generator unit powered by gas.

Two of the teenagers were laid to rest on Sunday and the funeral for the other six is taking place on Monday.
All of Bosnia and Herzegovina observed a Day of Mourning on Saturday, January 2, while the West Herzegovina Canton, where Posusje is located, is observing three days – from Saturday to Monday – in memory of the eight teenagers.
