According to findings by RTVBN, Nedeljko Elek was dismissed last night from all positions he held as an Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) official. The same source states that Elek has also been expelled from the party membership. It is further claimed that the order for his dismissal was issued personally by Milorad Dodik, the leader of the SNSD.

Elek served as the head of the Jahorina Olympic Center and also held the position of director of the company "Sarajevo-gas" from Istocno Sarajevo. It is important to recall that Dodik and Elek were otherwise in close relations, which Elek frequently boasted about in public. The same media outlet states that, unlike with Dodik, Elek had poor relations with Dodik's son, Igor.

Although the reason for Elek's sudden dismissal from all positions is not yet known, his last public appearance involved a sharp, publicly directed criticism of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs Minister, Zeljko Budimir. This criticism was regarding a police operation in Pale two nights prior, when a raid was conducted at a discotheque. During the raid, as witnesses claim, dozens of youths were beaten by the police, who were arresting them.

Following the removal of Nedeljko Elek from the position of director of "Sarajevo-gas" Istocno Sarajevo, Igor Djokanovic was appointed as the new director, the portal Provjereno.info reported. Specifically, as this portal states, the Management Board voted for his dismissal with all five votes.

Furthermore, according to the information available to the aforementioned portal, Elek was also dismissed from the position of president of the Supervisory Board of the Jahorina Olympic Center, and a session will be held during the day to select his successor.
