The President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, said he filed criminal complaints against BiH diplomats, including BiH’s ambassador to the UN, for unilaterally making foreign policy decisions without consulting the BiH Presidency and argued that BiH formally does not support any sanctions against Russia.

Dodik stressed that foreign policy is under the competencies of the tripartite state Presidency alone and that former BiH Foreign Affairs Minister, Bisera Turkovic, acted unilaterally and without consulting the Presidency.

He also said he filed criminal complaints against BiH’s Ambassador to the UN, Sven Alkalaj, as well as several ambassadors.

“Some ambassadors, irresponsibly, and I filed criminal charges against them, agreed to some Resolutions, to some bodies where they had no authority,” Dodik said, but added that he does not expect the judiciary to act on his complaints because it is “under the influence of America.”

Speaking about sanctions against Russia, Dodik said that “there is no such decision” and that “BiH does not formally or fundamentally support any sanctions against Russia.”

“Here they are trying to impose a stereotype that we have to follow some policies introduced by the EU and some other factors, but that is only 20 percent of the world. 70 or so percent did not introduce sanctions. When you look at that approach, then we are in the majority,” Dodik said.

He also commented on the recent visit of RS representatives to the Russian Duma, where MPs greeted them with applause.

“Our delegation was greeted with great applause in the Russian Duma and we are very pleased. I would like to know that they would applaud us in the American Congress, then I would go there. But I have sanctions so I can't,” Dodik said.
