The President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, said that the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) in Kosovo should have executive powers and that in some part it should resemble the RS.
“Without executive powers, it makes no sense to create an empty shell that serves no purpose,” Dodik said in an interview with Kosovo Online, Radio-television of the RS (RTRS) reported.
According to him, the talks should not continue “until the CSM is formed in the agreed capacity, and not as the Albanians are now brokering it.”
The RS President assessed that the Franco-German proposal for Kosovo does not differ much from some previous ones, given that it is based on the request that Serbia, even tacitly, should recognize Kosovo.
He said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic could not reject the document when he received it, but like every responsible statesman, he had to hold a public hearing.
Dodik concluded that the RS does not support Serbia recognizing Kosovo’s independence, adding that BiH did not recognize Kosovo’s independence because of this, just as it will not impose sanctions on Russia because, according to him, this is „an investment in the future“.
