The Bosnian Serb member of the country’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, said the allegations against him regarding a loan he took from the Pavlovic Bank which BiH prosecutors questioned him about on Tuesday are the result of efforts by “foreign embassies” - most notably, the British embassy in the country.
The Pavlovic Bank case was initiated in 2016 based on allegations that the bank provided a fictitious loan to Dodik for the purchase of a villa in Belgrade, which opposition parties alleged was done in an attempt to hide the origin of the money.

Dodik said on Wednesday that he was summoned by the “unconstitutional” Prosecutor's Office of BiH and Court of BiH.
“As such, they do not exist in the Constitution and as such are neither legal nor constitutional, but I said I would respond when they call me so there are no speculations,” he said.
Dodik strongly denied allegations brought against him.
“I was presented with something that happened 17 years ago. I completely deny everything related to the allegations of the Prosecution. It is true that I took a loan with Pavlovic Bank for more than one million Bosnian Marks for the purchase of real estate in Belgrade. Later, the deadline was moved to 20 years of repayment,” he said, adding that the loan is still being paid off.
Dodik said he is not only repaying the loan through instalments but also by renting out that property in Belgrade.
“I was harmed when, after the opening of the investigation against the people in the Pavlovic Bank, this contract was terminated and then I continued to pay the instalments from my salary,” Dodik said.
The allegations are false, he stressed, arguing that the case is part of a political process organised by “foreign embassies.”
“One of those embassies is the British one, whose ambassador said on his blog that the situation around Pavlovic Bank may unravel. What has the British ambassador got to do with it? This was a direct order to the Prosecution,” Dodik said.
