If Bosnia and Herzegovina is not granted EU candidate status, then the agreement that BiH’s political parties accepted in Brussels on June 12 “dies”, BiH Presidency member, Milorad Dodik, wrote on Twitter.
Dodik commented on an initiative to grant BiH candidate status which was presented by Slovenia and supported by the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, and the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, among others.
“The meeting in Brussels was motivated by Charles Michel's desire to offer the European Council a certain agreement between BiH politicians. I still stand behind it. If we get the candidate status, everything that was agreed there should be fulfilled. If there is no candidate status for BiH, the agreement in Brussels dies, ” Dodik posted on Twitter.
He was referring to the ‘Political agreement on principles for ensuring a functional Bosnia and Herzegovina that advances on the European path‘ which representatives of 12 parties in BiH’s Parliament supported on June 12.
