After a meeting between Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) and Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) leaders in Mostar, Milorad Dodik, president of SNSD, addressed the media to reaffirm his partnership with Dragan Covic and comment on recent political tensions.

Dodik emphasized that the partnership between SNSD and HDZ remains intact despite recent disputes. “We confirmed our partnership and agreed that some recent events were unnecessary. Certain members of the Troika were nervous, and that triggered a chain reaction,” Dodik explained. He detailed a situation in which changes to agreed legislation were proposed shortly before a parliamentary vote, leading to a breakdown in coordination.

Dodik accused US Ambassador Michael Murphy of influencing the political instability, criticizing efforts to form a new majority without SNSD or HDZ. “If SNSD and HDZ are not part of the majority, how does Troika plan to secure it? Do they expect the Democratic Action Party (SDA) and Troika to work together? The math doesn’t add up,” he argued.

He also dismissed claims regarding effective state-level governance, questioning the broader European integration efforts. “People are fleeing European structures, yet we are being pushed into them,” Dodik remarked.

Regarding his ongoing trial at the Court of BiH, Dodik stated his legal team requested the trial restart due to procedural grounds. “We’re acting in line with the law, seeking to reset the process,” he explained.

Concluding his remarks, Dodik criticized the state coalition for failing to deliver on agreements made earlier, blaming external influences for their retreat. “I don’t have time for unserious politics. I focus on real issues,” he concluded.
