Russia has full right to express its position regarding the developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Milorad Dodik, adding that it is Russia's right to say it doesn't want Bosnia join NATO if Brussels says it does.

“We won't join NATO, that subject doesn't exist,” said Dodik, adding that the only document mentioning the alliance dates back to 2005/2006 when there was a one-year mandate to make a transfer into Althea (EU military deployment mission).

“And they would like it to last 300 centuries,” he added.

Commenting on the visit of UK foreign secretary Liz Truss, whom he met on Thursday as the Presidency member, Dodik said the UK official left the meeting furiously after Dodik told her Bosnia and Herzegovina is a “failed state.”

He also noted that the October elections will take place as planned and funds will be secured for this purpose, but that the foreigners have nothing to do with it.

“Interventionism of foreigners in elections is unacceptable. What do embassies have to do with whether the Council of Ministers passed a decision or not. Who do they think they are to say if something is right or not. What is another country in the world where an ambassador can behave like that?,” asked Dodik.
