The President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, said that the RS is willing to tolerate certain changes in the process of electing the members of BiH’s Presidency would allow the RS to elect a Serb, representatives of other constituent peoples in the country or others to the tripartite institution.

“This makes it possible for everyone to run for office, which is a key issue of those reforms, and it also needs to be fixed in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH, the other semi-autonomous entity in BiH),” wrote Dodik on social networks.

Dodik argued that US ambassador to BiH, Michael Murphy, is trying to “destroy the internal agreement in BiH” and that he publicly advocates for changing the Constitution of BiH in order to bring about changes in the Election Law.

Dodik made the statement ahead of a meeting in Sarajevo organised by the “Troika” coalition parties, where representatives of all parliamentary political parties, including those in the opposition, are invited to discuss potential changes to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
