In a continued 'mural-graffiti-banner war' of condemning or glorifying war criminals across Serbia, a dozen of young men and an older one who claimed to be an agent of Serbia's Information and Security Agency (BIA), removed a banner reading 'Rako Mladic is war criminal convicted of genocide' from the building housing the opposition League of Vojvodina's Social-democrats (LSV) in Novi Sad.
A Beta news agency’s reporter said that young men climbed to an adjoining building’s balcony and unhooked a large banner, which then fell to the ground.
The police took the banner to the LSV office.
The party’s members said they would again put up the banner with black letters and a partially red background.
A message under the banner reads: „Anyway, f… him and those who see him as a hero.“ It’s signed with NC initials.
The LSV is headed by Nenad Canak.
His party headquarters have recently been often stained with graffiti celebrating Mladic and offensive messages against him and the party.
