Durakovic confirmed to FENA agency that the complaint had been prepared earlier and was awaiting his signature before submission.
“The complaint had been ready for some time; it only required my signature, as I was on medical leave. We have now signed and submitted the criminal complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH against an unknown person and the responsible official, specifically the Mayor of Banja Luka, Drasko Stanivukovic, who publicly stated he would not remove the mural,” Durakovic said.
He emphasised that it is now up to the Prosecutor’s Office to enforce the provisions of the BiH Criminal Code throughout the entire country.

“The Criminal Code clearly states that displaying or glorifying war criminals, including through murals, constitutes a criminal offence. There is an undeniable legal basis for this, so we will see how the process unfolds,” Durakovic added.
The controversial mural, he noted, was painted on a building in Banja Luka that houses a public soup kitchen.
