The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved a loan of an additional €110 million for Bosnia and Herzegovina's Vc corridor section, after the bank already invested a billion euros in this transport project.
The €110 million loan agreement was signed on Wednesday by BiH Finance Minister Srđan Amidzic and the head of the EBRD office in Sarajevo, Manuela Naessl.
The latest borrowing of 110 million euros will be used for a 15-kilometre-long motorway near the southern city of Mostar.
The 330-km-long Bosnian motorway section began over two decades ago, and slightly less than 130km has been built. According to current projections, the work is expected to be completed by the end of 2030.
€1.35 billion has been spent so far on this project.
The Corridor Vc motorway runs from Budapest to the southern Croatian Adriatic port of Ploce.
