Enes Pecenkovic, a member of the aeromodeling section of the Bihac Aero Club, won the American Cup in F1A gliders. In addition to the USA, this competition also covers Canada and Mexico.
According to Aero Club Bihac, the American Cup is one of the most demanding competitions in general, and there are 32 individual rounds in a calendar year.
The four best results from four different competitions are scored for the general ranking.
“Our member Enes participated in 12 competitions, of which he won eight times, He took second place in two competitions and fourth place in the remaining two competitions. The fact that competitors run 10 to 16 kilometres a day, and even more when the wind is strong speaks about how demanding the America's Cup competition system is. In addition to the technical aspect, the psycho-physical competition is also very demanding. There is also the technology, knowledge of materials and construction skills, as well as aerodynamics, electronics, programming, meteorology, knowledge of rules and regulations, competition tactics and logistics that are important factors in achieving good results.” Aero Club Bihac said in a statement.
Enes won gold in the same competition in 2021. At that time, he competed with the American sports license because the Aviation Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was not able to pay the membership fee to the FAI.
