During a working meeting with Mirsad Jasarspahic, Vice President of the FBiH Chamber of Economy, Musk presented the idea, necessity, and advantages of establishing an international multidisciplinary research institute in the region.

"Honoured by the visit, and proud that the FBiH Chamber is recognised as a proactive and open institution within Bosnia and Herzegovina's business community, with strong ties to academic and scientific sectors, Vice President Jasarspahic highlighted the country’s considerable economic and human potential”, the Chamber said in a statement.

Musk briefly outlined his vision for creating a multidisciplinary institute focused on cutting-edge research across various scientific fields. He emphasised the importance of selecting a neutral location amid global dynamics, suggesting that the host country would gain significant appeal among scientists, engineers, and related institutions worldwide.

The Chamber presented its activities, including sector-specific associations and numerous projects carried out in cooperation with national and international partners. Given Musk’s long-standing engineering background, special attention was given to the Engineering Chamber established within the FBiH Chamber, which could serve as a resource for expert selection for the proposed institute.

Musk, reportedly impressed by the technological literacy, behaviour, and achievements of local businesses in global supply chains, said he felt he had arrived at his “ideal destination,” describing Bosnia and Herzegovina as idyllic.

He also noted that after initially announcing the concept of the institute, he had received “dozens of proposals” from around the world for potential host locations.

“With the departure of the honoured guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a new and positive image of the country, as one rich in human potential, was carried on board,” the Chamber concluded.
