The European Commission called on the Bosnian authorities to urgently solve the migrant crisis at Camp Lipa, in the country's north-west, noting that the Union approved €3.5 million in humanitarian aid for the migrants in that camp.
The €3.5 million are pure humanitarian aid, meaning the authorities did not receive any of the funds. With these €3.5 million funds, the total EU aid invested into the migrant management BiH amounts to nearly €14 million, Spokesperson for Budget and Human Resources Balazs Ujvari said, adding that the €3.5 will be spent on clothes, blankets, food, health care and other psychosocial services.
EU once again urged Bosnian authorities to resolve the #Lipa migrant camp situation as soon as possible because its international image is at stake. #Bosnia should act as an aspiring EU member state, Lead spokesperson for the external affairs of the #EU @ExtSpoxEU said pic.twitter.com/LcHEh6CJKO
