The European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee will discuss the annual report for Bosnia and Herzegovina at its next session on 20 April.

According to the draft report signed by the permanent rapporteur Paulo Rangel from the European People’s Party (EPP), there are many objections, but also recommendations for the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the chapter “Functioning of Democratic Institutions”, Rangel states that the path of approaching the EU is determined by the functioning of institutions, the rule of law and fundamental rights.

According to the draft, the committee should also condemn non-compliance with international norms and rhetoric coming from the Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

One of the important elements on Bosnia and Herzegovina's path toward the EU is the reform processes that have been stalled for a long time.

The topic of the report is also fundamental rights, as one of the fundamental principles of the European Union, as well as the harmonization of BiH's foreign policy with the policy of the European Union.

The conclusions of the report signed by Rangel identify the problems that stand in the way of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The report is 10 pages long and it can be found at THIS link.
