Expectations from the new leadership of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina in improving judicial integrity and restoring citizens' trust are high, said European Union's Special Representative Johann Sattler following a meeting of the HJPC and EU member states representatives on Thursday.
He welcomed “fresh energy” in the meeting and expressed hope the new leadership of Bosnia's top judicial institution would ensure a strong rule of law.

In a session held on February 10, the HJPC members elected Halil Lagumdzija as the new President while Sanela Gorusanovic-Butigan and Biljana Simeunovic were elected Vice Presidents.
The position of the HJPC President remained vacant after the resignation of Milan Tegeltija in mid-December last year.
